Aston-Mansfield is a not-for-profit organisation, and a registered charity. They have been working in East London since 1884. The objectives of the charity are to develop the community wealth of East London and promote a diverse and inclusive society in which all are free to participate. These are achieved through several structured programmes and a range of activities supporting people of all ages, cultures and abilities, principally within the London Borough of Newham.
Their main local community centre is based in Manor Park. They provide a holiday and after school programme for primary school children. They currently deliver youth services for SEN, young people with emerging mental health issues, anoutreach service and a youth leadership programme.
Some activities are:
- Assist staff in providing a stimulating play programme for children attending Aston-Mansfield’s community centres. (This will include sourcing materials and contacting outside organisations.
- Arts and crafts, sports and games, cooking, dance, music, drama, daytrips and outdoor pursuits.
