Fundación Procrear works as a “community house” with the aim of providing support needed for the different parts of the local population. The aim of the work with children and teenagers is promoting citizenship and peace and preventing drug abuse. The work with the homeless population and girls working in prostitution aims to reduce the damage of drug abuse.
Some activities are:
- Centro de Escucha: Environment where the staff and the community meet to talk to each other, do activities and provide basic resources.
- Parche Costurero: A place where, mainly women living close to the foundation, learn how to sew and receive an income. Volunteers can learn how to sew as well, bond with the people and realize (their own) sewing-related project.
- Escuela: Children living near the foundation have a place to come to everyday and to be taken care of. The foundation plans activities in cooperation with the students of the Rosario University.
- Clase de ingles (aleman,…): The volunteer has the opportunity to plan and realize language courses for the community. These only happen if the volunteer wants to and will be provided to the people free of charge.
